As time goes by…

How is it that time manages to slip through your fingers like sand in an hourglass? Faster and faster, deeper by the second. I’ve lost track of all my notes logging things I wanted to post, they kept building up into an unmanageable mound of paper that just ended up spilling into the trash. icon smile As time goes by… So, let’s try to recap the last several months…

I landed the “holy grail” of jobs in West Michigan. I love my job and I work for a company that, when compared to all other employers that I’ve had the ‘pleasure’ of working for, treat me like a verifiable princess. We are given perks galore, my wage is greater than any I’ve had – even in the best of economic times – and they value my time with my family. I have an employer-funded dependent care fund, health club membership reimbursement fund, raises every 6 months, free health, vision and dental insurance for the entire family,  and many more options. It is a very challenging job, but well worth the stress.

The job procurement has allowed me to complete many more projects. I have knitted two cardigans for myself (one of them my own design), two summer sweaters (both my own design), a dress and sleeves with thumb holes for my daughter, several pairs of socks for the entire family, and many more. It probably helps that I have discovered a whole network of knitters at work to share ideas/designs with. I’ve never been the ‘group’ person, but I have to admit it is nice to have people to share my obsession with.

Now that the weather is turning cold again, I have started spinning more yarn. Right now I am working a beautiful jade blend that reminds me of Irish moss agate, soft and sensual Merino. I have an image of a lacey cardigan with a leaf pattern. Maybe something Irish to further the association. You know, I’m consistantly surprised by people’s reactions when they see me spinning on my breaks or at lunch. Everyone has said they don’t understand how it works. For me it is like spinning moments in time, wrapping us all in coccoons of the past, but for them it is a totally foreign concept.

Well, I think this has been enough sharing for now. I will try to keep things more up to date and post images of my recent works, but, unfortunately, I can’t promise how often I’ll write. Only that I’ll do my best.
