Just a tip that I heard from Jeanne. Call your car insurance company to see if your car policy covers rentals. If yes, then you can save money by not taking the optional insurance that the car rental companies offer. Also, depending on your credit card, you might have secondary coverage. For example, with my American Express card they provide secondary insurance coverage on the car rental. So whatever damages my auto policy doesn’t pay, Amex will.
