SB 444 on the Banking & Insurance Committee Agenda for Monday, April 6
SB 444, which was introduced by Senator Bennett and would create a “file and use” system for title insurers and prevent title agents from sharing in any portion of the title insurance premium, is scheduled to be heard on the floor of the Senate Banking & Insurance Committee on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. in Rm 412-K. All Title Insurance Agents – Please make plans to travel to attend this meeting to personally demonstrate your opposition to this legislation.
The FLTA Agent’s section has taken the position of opposing this bill and requests that the Title Insurance Study Council have the opportunity to perform its review of the industry and make recommendations before the legislature makes changes to the title insurance delivery system in Florida.
